Hotel - Apartments

A short drive out of Rethymnon into the hills behind the town will bring you to the small village of Atsipopoulo, where this lovely group of 10 apartments and 4 studios have been built, next to an old 17th - century Venetian house and a beautiful church.

The tiled courtyard is filled with trees and flowers and has a beautiful swimming pool in the centre, with deckchairs arranged around it. There is also a communal roof terrace, shaded with a vine-covered trellis, where you can take in the vista over the rooftops of the village and countryside to the sea below.

The apartments are mostly arranged over two floors with a lovely spiral staircase connecting the floors, and are decorated with colourful prints on the wall, wicker furniture, pretty soft furnishings and lovely pieces of traditional Cretan pottery are scattered artfully about and with air-conditioning, the interiors are light and airy.

Breakfast, a buffet of cheese, olives, fruits, bread, honey, homemade marmalade and much more, is served in a lovely, bright air-conditioned room which is reached down steps leading off from the reception. There are three local tavernas within walking distance, and one which is just 50m away will deliver food on request.

There is also a mini-market in the village for basic supplies and three tavernas. Rethymnon has a much wider range of shops, supermarkets and restaurants to choose from. The more rugged southern coast is also within driving distance, and you can visit the lovely much quieter beaches along this coastline and interesting coastal villages.
